semiologija
Sosirov termin semiologija datira iz rukopisa iz 1894. godine. Termin "semiologija" se nekad koristi da označi proučavanje znakova u Sosirovoj tradiciji (na primer, Bart, Levi-Straus, Kristeva i Bodrijar), dok se "semiotika" onda odnosi na Pirsovu tradiciju (na primer, Moris, RIčards, Ogden i Sebeok). Takoše, semiologija može da označava rad koji se fokusiran na tekstualnu analizu, dok je semiotski rad više orijentisan ka filozofiji.
