Founded in September 2008 by three women of Northern California, this organization was originally called "Northern California Women in Localization". Co-founders Anna Schlegel, Eva Klaudinyova, and Silvia Avary-Silveira began this group as a support network for one another and other female coworkers within the localization industry. The organization now has over 200 members worldwide. Members only need to fulfill two prerequisites: be female and currently be working in the localization industry. Linkedin and Facebook groups are available to join under Women in Localization.
