China's first female tennis player to ever win a Grand Slam championship. Li Na played in two Grand Slam finals: the Australian Open in January 2011 and the French Open in June 2011. As of June 4th, 2011, she is ranked No. 4 in the world for female professional tennis.

On June 4, 2011, Li Na bacame the first Chinese champion of a Grand Slam event by beating defending champion Francesca Schiavone of Italy in the French Open final.
